Our tomato processing industry
In TOMALIA S.C.U.G we are dedicated to process industrial tomato for the production of concentrates, salsa pizza, passatas, diced tomato and juice in aseptic format as well as canning formats for tomato sauces or even glass jars.
Our history began in 2003 in Badajoz, in the heart of Vegas del Guadiana, and currently have a processing capacity of 3,000 tons of fresh tomatoes per day (150,000 tons per year).
We continue innovating to maintain always the most modern production process, with the best facilities and commitment to quality, both of our canned tomato as all aspects of the company.
We also worry about the strict compliance with food safety and other requirements of the clients. We have the certification UNE-EN ISO 9001:2008, EN ISO 14001:2004, BRC (British Retail Consortium), IFS (International Food Standard) and EN 166002.
Vegas Altas del Guadiana´s Tomato
The processing plant of Tomalia is located just outside the town of Santa Amalia (Badajoz), in the heart of the Vegas Altas del Guadiana. From our privileged position, we must mention the superb quality of tomatoes grown in these lands. This area of Extremadura has the best climate in the world for growing tomatoes, it offers unique features in color, texture and flavor. The reasons are purely natural, because the soil here is rich in water, sun and heat, and has a perfect climate for the growth of this plant, also due to fertile ground where they develop. Our tomato canning cooperative is located in a strategic area of communications, along with the A-5, a major Spanish and extensive way, a few kilometers from the city of Merida, Caceres and Badajoz and close to the port of Lisbon (Portugal).
